I had the privilege of going into this family's home 10 days after their baby girl R. was born. I had arranged to do a lifestyle shoot with them, which meant using things around their home and catching mostly unposed interactions. They had purchased a cute swing that was in a perfect location near the window, so I was able to get some beautiful shots with the baby resting in the sun. Their two dogs were also getting used to welcoming the new addition to the family, so I made sure to include them as well. All in all in was a nice afternoon spent in their home and I captured some tender moments between the whole family.

I recently had the opportunity to take pictures of little Miss S. who was 9 days old. Her mom wanted to make sure that we got some posed shots of her, which I readily agreed to. However, I also wanted to try out some lifestyle shots, which if you have been reading my blog you know that it is something I have been wanting to do more of. During the first couple of weeks and months of a newborn's life the family's life revolves around that little one. For this family, S.'s big sister (who is 17 months old) was running around trying to find her new place and mom and dad were adjusting to having two kids at home. That change in lifestyle is something that I think should be captured and the best way is through lifestyle photography.
