When we were home a couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to see my brother and his family. This meant that I got to see my niece for the first time since she was 3 months old and meet my almost 2 year old nephew. Living so far away from family can be difficult but those times that we do get together are all the more fun. I had the wonderful opportunity to take their family pictures as they are transitioning into a new stage in their lives, which made seeing them all the more fun for me.

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet W. on Saturday. I had previously met this couple in December during their maternity shoot so when they contacted me to do W's 6 month photo shoot I was excited. We had a rough start in the morning with a rain shower but thankfully we were able to meet again in the evening and the weather and lighting were perfect. This baby is absolutely adored by both parents and I was so glad to be able to capture that on camera.
This weekend I had a fun time getting to know the J Family. Because it had been a long time since the family had pictures together, we wanted to pack as much into a photo shoot as possible. So after taking the more formal pictures I had them sit down and enjoy some nice Belgian pastries, because really who can resist some whipped cream? The kids then had a chance to go and play on the playground. It was fun to watch them all interact together throughout the shoot and I am so grateful that the rain held off for the evening.
Grandparents in town? What a wonderful time to get some family pictures. This time we were able to go to Château de Belœil. We weren't sure if the weather would hold, but because of the grey skies I could capture the chateau in more pictures without the usual glaring sun, so it was a fun experience for all.
