I was privileged to be asked to do another birth photography session. It was something that I knew I wanted to do but as a wife and mother of two young children it was something that I knew would cause me some stress in the planning of what to do with my children. So I planned for the "just in case" scenarios, prayed for the baby to be born on a weekend, and hoped that everyone would be healthy.
Thankfully L. went into labor on a Friday night (hours after her husband got home from a business trip) and I was able to once again make the drive to the hospital to be there for the labor and delivery. I was amazed at how easy L. made this labor look. She used a TENS machine and hypnobirth and for L. at least, these things worked really well. It was amazing to watch and the skin to skin at the end was beautiful. She had incredible support from her husband and the two midwives and I am so blessed that I was there to capture this amazing event. Thank you L. and J. for this privilege and I look forward to the newborn session with baby S..

Saturday we had such bad rain I was afraid that we were going to have to push this shoot back again but thankfully Sunday proved to be a beautiful day for another lovely maternity shoot. This cute couple is 36 weeks along and can't wait to meet their little baby. They were super cute together and I loved watching how attentive the soon to be dad was with his glowing wife. My best to you both and I hope that your little one comes soon for you.
This little snuggle bug was a little older than my usual newborns so this family opted to do a lifestyle shoot. I am so glad that they did because one, the baby was not interested in sleeping for more than 5 minutes and two I was able to see this cute family interact together. This baby is well loved and will continue to thrive in their care. Congratulations H. family and I wish you every happiness.
Baby girl A. gave me a run for my money. She fought sleep so hard and didn't want to be touched once she fell asleep. She has a lot of fight and spunk in her, but she was so sweet and beautiful I am sure that as she grows those traits will serve her well. This lovely family of four was great to work with and I am thankful for the patience that they had as we made it through this shoot.
Baby K. was a little snuggle sweetheart who happily fell asleep when rocked and shushed. She slept on and off throughout the shoot and although she was not very happy to be moved I was thankful that I was able to switch things around a bit so I could get a variety of shots. I hope that she enjoys all the company coming her way and that she continues to grow well.
Downtown shoots provide for a bit of a different backdrop to photographs, and when you want to remember a part of the area where you lived it is one of the best places to go. I was able to capture this family the other day and although it wasn't during my usual go to time we were still able to get out of the sun a bit and have a beautiful location. It was lovely meeting this family and these pictures bring back happy memories of their time here.
I quickly figured out that this couple was not going to have any "serious" pictures, since C. was making S. laugh throughout the session. Plus the baby woke up and decided she was going to kick; those precious moments of Daddy getting to feel baby kick are always fun to capture. I hope these two are able to get everything ready over the next two months and I look forward to meeting Baby when she arrives.
