Yesterday I was able to mark the one year birthday of this little girl. She is one of the sweet babies that I photographed as a newborn and then at 6 months. I love it when I get to see these little ones grow from itty bitty to having independence in both walking and talking. I know this little girl can walk and she happily said "bird" and "dog" but she only wanted to be held yesterday. She let her daddy fly her for a bit but after that she was pretty much Mama's little girl. Thankfully capturing Motherhood is one of my favorite things to do so I was still able to get some lovely shots of little E. as she snuggled in her Mama's arms.
Happy birthday little one, I hope that tomorrow is a brighter day.

This weather is pretty much miserable. Seriously it has been in the 70s all summer and here at the end of August we are in the 90s. It is hot, but at least it means it won't rain. It is hot (did I mention that) and this little boy who is turning 2 gave me a run for my money. Literally. I chased him until it felt like I was back in high school doing soccer drills. But he was as happy as a clam and I was happy because it meant I was able to capture this two year old in his element. It meant I was able to give his mom and dad something to remember how life was at this point. So through the heat we ran and maneuvered so he didn't fall in the water and so I could get the good light - the gorgeous light.
Happy birthday little man and I hope that you all have a lovely rest of your summer. Thankfully I was able to do a followup maternity session with this Mama and her daughter. This time Dad got to join in on the fun after being away. I am so glad that he is home for his family and that they no longer have to stress with the not knowing whether or not he was going to make it back in time for the birth. Little A. is doing well with Dad being back and this family of 3 is ready to be a family of 4 within the next 2 weeks.
Another of my sweet newborns is already 6 months - seriously where does time fly? When this family asked if I would do pictures at the zoo I gladly accepted - although I'm pretty sure we picked one of the busiest nights of the whole year. Thankfully as most of you know our zoo is one of the prettiest areas around and we were able to find a few quiet and beautiful spots to take some pictures. Little W. didn't really want anything to do with me, but every once in a while I was able to get a smile out of him.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of W.'s growing process and hopefully those teeth of his come in soon. This beautiful family contacted me in July about doing their newborn session. Unfortunately I was already booked so I was unable to do the shoot at the time. However, we did work it out so that we planned a lifestyle and outside shoot when the baby was 7 weeks old. I love these images. The weather was actually decent for once and the outfits that they picked out were perfect for what I was wanting to achieve - which was pictures that were clean and pure. I am so thankful for sunny days and for customers who are willing to work with me and hopefully these images will bring back good memories in the future.
