When this couple asked me about birth photography, I was excited about the prospect of doing another birth. I was also very unsure if it was going to fit into my schedule (yes, I am a mom of two young children, and this is a hobby). Anyways, this couple graciously asked if I could make it. If I couldn't make it, they asked if I could take some hospital pictures 24-48 hours later.
R. ended up needing to be induced, which meant I had a better idea of when I would be needed and was able to set up childcare for my children. When I arrived at 11 am, it was 15 hours after her induction. She was well into labor. Thankfully, her epidural was in place. The main thing I love about photographing births is seeing how attentive the partner is and the look of adoration as their loved one endures so much pain to bring a child into this world. R. was so strong throughout labor. When it was time to push, she did so for almost an hour and a half until baby E. was born. After some medical assistance, mom and baby girl are together and doing well. They will go home together soon. Thank you R. and J. for allowing me to be a part of this amazing, but difficult, time. You showed much strength and love. I hope the days ahead go smoothly for all three of you.

I decided to do something a little different with this family and since it is almost fall, but the leaves aren't quite changing we decided apple picking would be a fun thing to do. The weather was typically cloudy and rainy but thankfully it stopped soon after I arrived and we were able to get some lovely pictures.
This little boy is going to be one this week and he had his picture taken to commemorate the event. He was super cute and enjoyed posing for us as well as making sure he got his shoes off by the end. He was super snugly with his mom and thought his dad was hilarious. Happy Birthday L.
One of my first and favorite clients came back to visit and to have her third birthday pictures taken. Thankfully we always manage to work past the language barrier and get some adorable shots. It wasn't the best weather but the sun came out at the end and was beautiful as ever. Thank you so much my dear friends for coming and for allowing me to photograph you all once again. I miss you.
We had another beautiful night here and I am not sure how I feel about the rain in the forecast. But thankfully for the week at least we have blue skies and some beautiful back light.
This family of three is expecting the new addition to their family in about a week, and it was clear this baby will be welcomed with many loving arms. I hope that this next phase in your journey goes well for your whole family and my best wishes to you. Little did I know that when I went to this location there had been a massive storm the night before and everything would be near to flooding. Thankfully this family was willing to sit and walk in the soggy mush so I could get my light. After a quick family shoot we did a cake smash for little D. and although she wasn't so sure about the cake itself the frosting was more to her liking. Happy first birthday D!
I got to spend more time with this sweet little boy - and I am so glad. I watched him come into the world a week before and had a fun time with this family during the newborn session. He was such a sleepy fellow and very malleable. It has been such a privilege to document this family during their pregnancy journey and I am so glad that baby S. is here, but it is bittersweet at the same time. My very best to you all and thank you again for this amazing opportunity.
I got to meet cute Baby E. this last weekend. She was interested in sleeping and being posed at first but then decided it wasn't for her and she only wanted to cuddle. Thankfully there were helping hands available and this much loved girl will soon have everyone wrapped around her little fingers. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter and may she bring you much joy.
