This last weekend I had the privilege of photographing this family up in Pennsylvania. This past year I have photographed them every three months so I have been able to watch J. grow and change from a newborn to a one year old. When we moved this last month one of the most difficult things for me was to lose all my clients and everyone that I have grown to know and cherish. When J's mom contacted me to let me know they would be visiting family in PA and she wanted to know if I could come up and do a family shoot I tentatively said yes. But as the time approached I grew grateful for the opportunity to work again and to see a recently familiar family face.
Thank you for putting your faith in my work and for allowing me the chance to see this year through with your family. We enjoyed the snow and the time with your family. All the very best as you figure out your plans for the next year.

The sun decided that it wanted to hide behind the clouds the entire session, but it didn't rain so that was a plus. Thankfully this family was dressed warmly and adorably so it meant that the kids weren't freezing the whole time (seriously where did our warmer weather disappear to?). These kids did well for me - and although they were bored with me by the end of the session I was still able to get the shots that were needed to make this shoot something that shows a bit of who they are as a family.
Well Halloween is today and when I did this shoot at the zoo I didn't realize how many people were going to be in costume. I quickly realized that it was rather difficult competing with grim reapers, vampires, and witches for attention.Thankfully by the end of the shoot we found a spot where this 9 month old could stand and his Mama could get smiles from him. I have enjoyed working with this family and watching little J. grow. The very best to all of you
This family has become one of my family's dearest friends over the last year. When K. said that she wanted to incorporate a bit of Europe into their shoot and to also do more photographs of the kids interacting I said okay let me think. Since I was already out at the Abbey I asked them to come out there and we could include some of the older Europe. Little man B. started walking a few months ago and he did not want to be stopped; thankfully with this type of photography it still works and I was able to get some tinder moments between them all.
Thanks for all your help before the shoot and for your dear friendship - this last year would not have been nearly what it was without you. The leaves in the forest have yet to really start changing, which means that it is still a bit dark within the trees. The beautiful sun did shine though this weekend so we were still able to make it work and have a lovely maternity shoot. I was really impressed with this soon to be mother of two as she watched her son climb logs and run through puddles (it is always fun to play in the forest). It will be fun to see if she has another boy or girl and I look forward to photographing the new baby in December.
Saturday started out a bit cloudy, but thankfully the sun broke through and we were able to have a beautiful shoot (even though it was a bit later in the day than usual).
We wandered through the local streets up to the center of town (the bell tower) for some beautiful views and to count chestnuts that had fallen from the trees. I am always thankful to my clients who return and it was lovely to see this family once again. For the past 10 months I have been visiting this family's coffee shop on a 2 to 3 (or maybe 4) times a week basis. It has become a second home to my family. Then there is also the fact that they are working at raising awareness for Human Trafficking makes my going meaningful to more than just me. I am slowly getting to know the two boys and very much enjoyed watching them interact as a whole family. I am so grateful for the time that I have been able to spend with them and if you are in the area you may want to stop by their shop for some lovely coffee and a taste of home.
Oh the weather. I watched the weather all week and it started out where it was supposed to be nice. And then it said only the morning was supposed to be nice. Then in the morning I looked outside and saw clouds - a lot of them. It wasn't supposed to rain though, and really around here clouds are generally present so no big deal. But then it started to sprinkle - there was not supposed to be any rain - and here it was misting on my parade. Thankfully this family remembered umbrellas, and really umbrellas are fun - they are something we see a lot of. The kids were able to play and have fun with the umbrellas, and I was able to get real smiles, so rain which made me so annoyed - maybe you weren't so bad after all. However, did the sun really have to come out as soon as I got home?
This beautiful little girl turned one this month and it is amazing to think that a year has already flown by. She is beyond adored by both her mom and dad and it was fun to watch them try to make her laugh. Her one year shoot also included a beautiful cake smash and lovely light (I love it when we have gorgeous weather).
Thank you for the opportunity to see little E. again and I hope that she continues to bring both of you much joy. I know she will be keeping you both on your toes. This beautiful family contacted me in July about doing their newborn session. Unfortunately I was already booked so I was unable to do the shoot at the time. However, we did work it out so that we planned a lifestyle and outside shoot when the baby was 7 weeks old. I love these images. The weather was actually decent for once and the outfits that they picked out were perfect for what I was wanting to achieve - which was pictures that were clean and pure. I am so thankful for sunny days and for customers who are willing to work with me and hopefully these images will bring back good memories in the future.
