This weekend I was given the amazing opportunity to photograph the birth of baby boy B. Birth photography is something that I have been looking more and more into and with each blog that I open I have been yearning to try to capture the anguish, anticipation, and joy that goes on during a birth. I was honored when I was contacted to do this birth and quickly lined up baby sitters for my own children and hoped and prayed that nothing would cause me to miss being there to capture this incredible time for this family.
On Friday K. let me know that she had started contractions and would keep me updated. When the time was right I headed out to the hospital. Thankfully I arrived when I did because this little man came fast and hard. K. had an amazing support in her husband and one thing that he continually reminded her to do was focus. Find your focal point and concentrate on that. Just 2 hours after I arrived little B. came into the world. It was an incredible time and I am glad that I was there to help capture some of the raw emotions. (I will be posting pictures of my return trip to the hospital less than 24 hours later when big sister got to meet baby B. tomorrow). Thank you K. and J. for allowing me to be there - the strength that both of you showed was amazing.
