A Trip to the Flag

Oh the flag that flies above Bishkek, one of our favorite sites (and sights), due to the mountains that tower behind it.  There are days that the smog in the city is so bad that the mountains can't be seen.  Unfortunately the day that I wanted to take these family photographs was one of those days.  Thankfully when we drove up to the hills (the drive is horrible with potholes and rocks threatening to pop your tires at most every turn) we could see the mountains a bit and the sun was perfect for some pictures.  We raced through them at the end as I didn't want to go back down the hill once the sun set.  Hopefully this year the poppies will bloom and we can go back up, until then I think we will give our wheels a break.
