On the 5th of January our family started a new adventure. We have been in limbo for weeks now and actually moving forward (out of our house, hotel, and into another hotel) has all be a bit hectic. Starting a new adventure required leaving the country that the kids were born in, leaving our home, our friends, my clients, and the place that we have grown to love over the past 6 years. It meant heartbreak for me. I know that there are going to be many good things ahead, but change is always hard and leaving so much has been very difficult. I know that God has a plan for us, and that it was time to leave but it doesn't make it any easier.
We are now located in the DC Metro area for the next 6 or so months while we wait and see where we are going to be stationed next. So stayed tuned and in February I will be announcing where we will be headed - but in the mean time I will do my best to post some of our every day. Here we are at the airport waiting to board our flight.

Wishing you all the best in this difficult transition. Going into unknowns is so hard especially with children depending on you. You will become stronger and more diverse with this move. As a a photographer you are in a unique position because you your surroundings will be new and interesting to you. So many of us struggle in finding something new and interesting to shoot in our daily lives. You certainly won't have that issue. I'm going into a health h related issue I'm not looking forward to so I understand somewhat what your going through. Take one day at a time.

Thank you for your words of encouragement and the reminder that new means being able to capture my children in a new environment - which as you say is a rare treat at times.

My favorite thing to photograph is my family. Our life isn't always perfect, but it is our life and these are memories I want to keep and would like to share with you. Archives
