A Sense of Home

A Look Inside with Family Self Portraits

When Melinda's children were still young, she would take a family picture on their birthdays - something to document the day. As they grew older, and her family moved she began to visualize where she could put her family members so that they could create stories in rooms that she wanted to remember. She wanted there to be layers, shadow play, and meaning. When 2020 hit and they were stuck in their home in Dublin, Ireland it became a way for them to document their weeks, and their much loved house. The images in this project have been taken in four different homes, in four different countries and have become a way to show their love for each other, and the home that they once lived in.
